About the Magazine
POPULAR PLASTICS emerged on the horizon in March 1955 as the voice of the Indian plastics industry. The present age may very well be termed as the ‚plastics age™ as, from push buttons to jet planes and ocean liners to spacecraft, plastics have found intensive applications in a wonderful colour range and a bewildering variety. In August 1989, the magazine changed its name to POPULAR PLASTICS AND PACKAGING. This was in response to the trend that was developing, with packaging having become the single largest outlet for plastics materials in a variety of forms, from the conventional moulded containers to the complex multi-layer co extruded films, multi-layer bottles, laminated tubes, flexible bulk containers, laminates, fluorinated containers and what-have-you. In recognition of its stature in India, POPULAR PLASTICS was invited to join the network of international plastics publications and POPULAR PLASTICS & PACKAGING became a member of the network comprising Plastics & Rubber Weekly, England, Plastforum, Scandinavia, Plast Panorama, Denmark, Plastocos Universales, Spain and Portugal, Plastigues Moderness et Elastomers, France, Plastics Age, Japan, Poliplasti, Italy, Kunstoffe, Germany, Plastics Technology, U.S.A., Technologia Del Plastico, South America,Plastics News, Australia, China Plastic & Rubber Journal,China and Plastics Business, Canada.
